Looking for expert dog or puppy training in West Chester? Whether you have a high-energy puppy or an older dog in need of some better manners, our trainers at Pet Palace are here to help. At Pet Palace in West Chester, our staff of experienced dog trainers can socialize and train your dog so they behave no matter the situation.
Whether you’re a seasoned dog owner with multiple pets or just welcoming your first, training is advantageous regardless of a dog’s breed or age. Some of the key benefits of obedience training include:
Training is available for dogs of all ages, breeds, and skill levels. Some common lessons we focus on in any of our dog training programs include:
We currently offer three different dog training programs, which include:
At Pet Palace, our trainers use a variety of positive reinforcement-based methods to train your dog. Positive reinforcement involves rewarding dogs when they do the desired behavior and withholding the reward when they don’t. By rewarding the good behaviors, dogs are encouraged to repeat those actions, helping them learn commands, tricks, and appropriate social boundaries.
Some of the positive reinforcement methods we use for dog obedience training in West Chester include:
At Pet Palace, we hire animal lovers who are trained to deliver first-rate, professional care. Our lead dog trainer, Brandis Fishel, has been working at Pet Palace for over 10 years and has extensive experience in positive reinforcement training.
Brandis works alongside Samantha and Jake, who are both lifelong dog owners and who have been training their dogs since they were kids.
Ideally, you should start training your dog as early as possible, but it’s never too late to start! Any dog can benefit from training classes, regardless of their age.
Before training can begin, we require all dogs to be vaccinated against DHPP, Rabies, Bordetella, and CIV (H3N2 & H3N8).
A short walk or some playtime before a training session can help your dog focus on the training, but you don’t want to tire them out too much. Training is very mentally stimulating for your dog, so a little exercise beforehand can help them focus without wearing them out.
While any breed of dog can benefit from obedience training, some breeds naturally pick up training faster than others. Some of these breeds include Labrador retrievers, border collies, German shepherds, golden retrievers, and more.
